2019-2020 Fall/Spring Internship

enFocus Fall/Spring internships are made available on an as needed basis, pending the needs of our sponsored innovation projects. Fall/Spring interns must be able to commit at least 8 hours per week and be available to work on site in South Bend or Elkhart, Indiana.

Interns work alongside Fellows to provide value for our project sponsors in various industries, including government, education, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, and private businesses. The type of work varies significantly depending on the needs of each project.


Common internship activities include:

  • Collecting, synthesizing, and/or analyzing data
  • Conducting qualitiative research (e.g. interviewing community stakeholders)
  • Informing the strategic direction of projects through best practice research
  • Analyzing business plans and processes to provide sponsor recommendations
  • Assisting with the implementation of new technologies
  • Providing technical assistance for the creation of a new product or service


What we look for in a candidate:

  • Passion to build better communities through innovation and/or entrepreneurship
  • Desire to work in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Ability to identify work activities and work independently
  • Excellent communication skills and professionalism
  • Relevant industry experience and/or interest that can be applied to a sponsored project
  • Depending on the project, familiarity with the South Bend-Elkhart region
