enFocus Overview

enFocus is a nonprofit organization that builds better communities through talent attraction, innovation, and entrepreneurship. Founded in 2012, enFocus brings an “entrepreneurial focus” to communities by recruiting top graduates to work on innovation projects in a 1-2 year Fellowship program. enFocus Fellows work collaboratively on meaningful community projects to discover, design, and implement solutions for regional sponsors.  Over seven years of operations, enFocus has attracted over 800 young professionals to the region working on over 180 projects that have resulted in $85M in business value and the incubation of over 20 new companies. In addition to the Fellowship program, enFocus has built a talent pipeline to the South Bend-Elkhart region through a network of diverse internship programs.

 

Position Overview

We are seeking a Communications Manager with a passion for storytelling and community building. This position will have an influential role in building the enFocus brand and engaging our diverse stakeholders to advance the enFocus mission. The Communications Manager will be involved in a broad range of activities, including brand management, external and internal communications, event management, public relations, and recruiting. This position will frequently represent the enFocus brand while interacting with recruits, donors, and our sponsoring organizations. We are looking for an outgoing, detail-oriented individual who can help us build out robust communications and events programming and implement scalable solutions as we grow. This position will report directly to the Program Director for Operations and will be expected to work collaboratively with the entire enFocus team.

 

Responsibilities

  • Develop a communications and events plan that aligns with organizational goals
  • Gather, develop, and publish content regularly for the enFocus blog, newsletter, and other publications as needed to showcase the positive impact of enFocus
  • Develop and update brand guidelines and ensure they are adhered to for all enFocus communications and publications
  • Oversee the planning and execution of enFocus community and recruiting events
  • Manage social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and LinkedIn
  • Manage and regularly update the enFocus website, using analytics to inform continuous improvement
  • Create press releases and media advisories and interact with regional media representatives
  • Develop marketing materials to promote enFocus, including flyers, brochures, etc.
  • Oversee the development of high-quality photography and video to support enFocus communications
  • Assist our staff and project teams with the design of professional reports and documentation as needed
  • Assist with the recruitment of enFocus Fellows and interns, including coordinating and attending recruiting events.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase awareness of enFocus by keeping a pulse on community events and maintaining relationships with community partners
  • Take an entrepreneurial approach to the role, working collaboratively with team members to support key initiatives and get things done

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Passion for our mission of attracting talent and empowering them to build better communities
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience in content creation and proofreading/editing
  • Strong graphic design skills, including proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite and MS Office
  • Knowledge of social media and email marketing
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment

 

Exceptional Candidates Will Have

  • Several years of experience in a marketing, communications, or public relations role
  • Familiarity with the South Bend-Elkhart region, including media contacts
  • Experience producing photography and/or videography
  • Experience working in an entrepreneurial work environment
